MRD Managed Resource Development Ltd

Managed Resource Development Ltd (MRD) was established in 1989 following a study of Carrick-on-Shannon undertaken by the Department of Architecture of Bolton Street College, which recommended the formation of a development agency for the town.

The purpose of MRD is to facilitate the development, management and promotion of the resources and assets of Carrick-on- Shannon for the benefit of the community.

The achievements of MRD to date include the publication of a high quality promotional brochure for Carrick-on-Shannon, supporting and sponsoring the development and activities of local groups such as Tidy Towns, the Historical Society and the Junior Chamber of Commerce. MRD has also built strong linkages between the Carrick community and state agencies and other organizations, including Leitrim County Council, Leitrim County Enterprise Board, The Development of Finance, The Regional Tourism Board, Forbairt and the International Fund of Ireland.

Managed Resources Development Ltd is a non-profit taking company limited by guarantee without share capital and no dividends payable.

The company has a six member Board of Directors
